Boarding

Blowing Springs Kennel has the best boarding facility in the region. Dogs that are boarded with us will receive the best care, most attention, and the most group recreation of any other kennel. Our facilities are unmatched in cleanliness, as our kennels and airing yard are both cleaned daily. While your dog is boarded with us, they will be socialized with dogs and humans alike. We are not breed specific, although we are limited to medium / large dogs.

Advanced Training

Roddy’s reputation for training dogs is unmatched. The main focus of the training is “Gun Dog” Training. Whether you hunt waterfowl, upland, or big game, he can train your dog to be its best. We are not breed specific, although we are limited to medium / large dogs. The breeds that have been trained here are nearly too numerous to mention. But after all “a dog is a dog”. All of our trainees are taught to be good citizens first, and then transitioned into formal hunting training.

Because of Roddy’s groundbreaking behavior training methods, we have partnered with the Veterinary Technician School at Chattanooga State Technical Community College in providing instruction and fellowship time to their students. We are also developing a behavior training program for other veterinary tech / veterinary schools and practices.

When your dog is at our facility, the rates are all inclusive. The rate you pay includes: boarding/training, food, recreation, administration of meds. Simple and straightforward, just like our training methods.

TO ASSURE THAT EACH TRAINEE RECEIVES THE PROPER AMOUNT OF ATTENTION, TRAINING SPACES ARE LIMITED.

Private Instruction

Roddy is also available for private training sessions. The sessions are held at our facility and are scheduled by appointment only. Your training session will last as long as you would like and can also include as many guests as you would like to bring. This is not a classroom setting, its a truly hands on application session. You will be taught how to deal with specific problems as well as how to further your dogs training. Private training is included (and strongly encouraged) free of charge to our clients who have placed dogs with us for training. Private training is open to any size dog.

Behavior Modification

Finally there is a local source for dog behavior consultation and modification.  By educating owners about how their dog thinks and teaching them the proper way to communicate we have solved numerous dog behavior issues.  We offer private instruction and long term on-site training.  The on-site training is limited to medium – large breeds.  Just a few of the issues that we have fixed are:

            – Walking on Leash

            – Chewing

            – Coming when called

            – Weight control

            – Boundaries

We find that most behavior issues are rooted in poor communication.  The most important part of our training is the owner involvement.  We provide the owner with the tools they need to make their dog a great dog.  Consultation with Veterinary Professionals is also welcomed.  We also do free follow up with our clients.
